Biomechatronics Lab doctoral student Kenneth Gutierrez co-authored a paper titled, “Elastohydrodynamic friction of robotic and human fingers on soft micropatterned substrates,” which has been accepted for publication in the Nature Materials. This research was conducted in collaboration with Dr. Lilian Hsiao (North Carolina State University) and Dr. Yon Visell (University of California, Santa Barbara). This work was supported in part by National Science Foundation Awards CBET-2042635 and IIS-1751348, the AAAS Marion Milligan Mason Award, and the Eugene V. Cota-Robles Fellowship from the University of California, Los Angeles.
